History behind the most haunted fort of India- The Bhangarh fort


If you are a great fan of haunted and thrilling stories then many times you came across the mystery behind Bhangarh fort. The Bhangarh fort is situated on the border of Sariska Tiger Reserve in the Aravali range in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.  After sunset no entry is permitted inside the fort and many people claim that if someone goes inside the fort after sunset then he never returns back.

Bhangarh fort history-
The fort was made in 17th century by Maan Singh I, who is one of the Navratan of Akbar’s court of his son Madho Singh I.
There are 2 stories behind bhangarh fort –

One is about between Madho Singh and Guru Balu Nath- 
When King Madho Singh came Bhangarh, he said he wanted to build a palace of his own in Bhangarh. And at that time Bhangarh was the meditating place of Guru Balu Nath. After listening the news of making fort in his meditating place, Guru Balu Nath becomes aggressive and said these words-
“The moment the shadow of the palace touches me, the city will be no more.”
Since that time the whole Bhangarh city is demolishing at a very faster rate and everything is diminished now. Ever since then when a house was built in and around the area the roof would subsequently collapses.

The second one is between The Princess Ratnavati and The Black magician Singhai-

Ratnavati was the princess of Bhangarh and she was very beautiful and kind hearted. Stories of her beauty were very popular amongst everybody. Singhai who was black magician had fallen in love with her and he wanted to attain her as there was no way by which Singhai would get the charming Princess. He decided to attain her with the help of black magic.
Singhai bewitched a cosmetic (perfume) used by her and after using that cosmetic princess Ratnavati automatically supposed to surrender herself to Singhai. But before using that perfume princess Ratnavati got the news that someone mixed something to her perfume. She threw away that perfume outside the fort and perfume was fallen on a rock and after falling of that perfume on that rock, the rock started coming towards to hit him but before his last breathe Singhai placed a curse on Bhangarh’s land that no one would live here peacefully. Since then entire landscape is haunted in Bhangarh.

Bhangarh fort at night-
As entry is prohibited after sunset or before sunrise no one enters inside the great Bhangarh fort. Local people says that there is a chain of paranormal activities that occurs inside it. At night strange noises and sound of a female voice screaming out loudly comes from the fort.
Local people refer Bhangarh fort as “Bhoot Bangla” or “Haunted House”. Even you believe in it or not, but it is recommended not to go inside the fort after sunset as it is believed that if someone goes inside the Bhangarh fort after sunset then they would not return back. There are evidences to claim of those who tried their luck either went missing or weren’t able to explain coherently but the fact remains the fact.

Best time to visit Bhangarh fort- From October to February
